The starter set is comprised of the 3 tools in my beginner class, “Template Mania.” Stitching a straight line is harder than it looks. The Mini Straight line tool is indented a ¼” on each side so you can place the tips on a seam and “Stitch in the Ditch.” It is ideal for getting the eye for placing your templates ¼” away from where you want the stitch line to be. Straight lines are great for emphasizing details, creating rail fences or piano key patterns, and, my favorite, the Mobius square. This is an excellent practice for learning that your sewing machine will stitch in 360° degrees.

The Nested Mini Circles are great for creating a String of pearls and a host of border designs. Remember to rotate them around a center point to create a “spirograph” effect.

The Pointed Leaf/Oval is one of the most versatile templates. This tool can be used to create a whole host of designs. Check out the free PDF directions on our website for just a small sample!
